Applies the language-specific diacritic-stripping algorithm to return the "logical pagename" corresponding to a given input. In most cases (see the "Important" note below), this is the title of the page that would be linked to by {{l}}, {{m}} or a similar template, given the same parameters.

For example, {{strip diacritics|la|avārissimī}} gives "avarissimi", because {{l|la|avārissimī}} in fact links to the page titled avarissimi due to Latin diacritic-stripping rules.

You can optionally supply a |sc= parameter for the script code if needed.

Important: This template is not suitable for creating actual links, checking for a page's existence, or similar tasks where the "physical pagename" (the actual MediaWiki page title where the entry is kept) is required. The physical pagename of an entry differs from the logical pagename in certain circumstances, namely, mammoth pages like a or titles with unsupported characters in them. Where the physical pagename is needed, use {{logical to physical|LANG|{{strip diacritics|LANG|...}}}}.
