This template is used in the documentation pages of deprecated templates to indicate that they are deprecated and which templates should be used instead. Contrary to the above message, this template ({{deprecated code doc}}) is not deprecated and is in active use. It is implemented using {{mbox}}.

|replacement=- The name(s) of, or link(s) to, the replacement template(s). Required only if
|use_instead=is not given.
|templink=- A link to the replacement template. Required only if
|tempname=is not given. Overrides|tempname=.
|tempname=- The name of the replacement template. Required only if
|templink=is not given.
|usage=(optional)- An adjectival phrase describing the frequency with which the deprecated template was used before it was deprecated. Defaults to relatively high-use.
|numuses=(optional)- Indicates approximate number of uses (e.g.
~ 6,000 uses). Optional; default is not to display this information.
|when_replaced=(required)- The date (in any format) when uses of the deprecated template where replaced with uses of the replacement template.
