Usage
[සංස්කරණය]This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to cite editions of Monier Monier-Williams's A Sanskrit–English Dictionary. It can be used to create a link to the following online versions of the Dictionary:
- 1st edition, 1872 at the Internet Archive.
- new edition, 1899 provided by the University of Cologne (the default).
Parameters
[සංස්කරණය]The template takes the following parameters:
- 1st edition, 1872
|year=
– mandatory: if citing from the 1st edition (1872) of the work, specify|year=1872
.|entry=
– mandatory: the entry in the work cited, either in Devanagari script or in the Latin alphabet.|trans-entry=
– if the entry is in Devanagari script, this parameter may be used to provide a transliteration in the Latin alphabet.|page=
or|pages=
– mandatory in some cases: the page number(s) of the work cited. When citing a range of pages, note the following:- Separate the first and last pages of the range with an en dash, like this:
|pages=110–111
. - You must also use
|pageref=
to specify the page number that the template should link to (usually the page on which the entry begins).

or|columns=
– the column number(s) of the work cited. When citing a range of column numbers, separate the first and last numbers of the range with an en dash.|passage=
– a passage quoted from the work.
